The future growth of one's self

The coffee I am drinking right now is really smooth with a slight hint of bitterness. It is a bit chill also but that makes it better.  The way I described my coffee is how I would describe myself. Hello reader, I’m Sami and I’m a first-year computer science student from Finland. My story isn’t the most interesting one but I find it laughable that every direction I’ve tried to take in my life has always led me back to computers.

From a very young age I’ve been fond of technology and I feel privileged that I happened to grow up during the golden era of modern technology. I’m still amazed how everything works and at the people who came up with the ideas behind computers. My parents never understood computers but nowadays they seem to appreciate the influence and the direction computers led me to (well mostly, as now I’m their personal Tech Support, which is funny). But I’ve always been a helper person. And that’s why I hope to ethically help others in need and inspire others to do so too. And with technology I’ll be able to do anything!

Why am I doing a blog then? Shouldn’t I be doing something more creative? The blog itself is both a diary and a time capsule for myself, but also something I want to share with the world. It’s a way for me to look back and reflect, see my growth as a person but most important as a future engineer, designer, manager, or whatever title the world throws at me. Maybe someday I’ll be a game developer or CEO of some big company - Who knows? Did I make it or did I fail miserably on my path to ”greatness”? Only time will tell.

My decision to use English as the main language of this blog is also part of that growth I already mentioned. For now, my goal is to learn and use more advanced English as much as possible, though I still have a long road ahead. Popular culture, such as music, television and video games, are the sole reason I understand and am able to communicate in English as well as I can right now. I see myself working abroad and I need to polish my communication skills. By practicing, doing my homework and staying active, I know only a bright future awaits me.

Until next time!

Sincerely,

Sami.

  3. I really liked the way you described yourself as your parents "personal Tech Support". It’s such a relatable situation nowadays. The storytelling and personal experiences you included made the post engaging and authentic. I’m excited to follow your journey towards becoming a CEO or even beyond.
